August 14, 2010 :: Snake Avoidance Clinic at Tioga Retrievers DFWLRC 3rd annual snake avoidance clinic will be held on Saturday, August 14th from 7:00am to 12:00pm at Tioga Retrievers. Anyone that enjoys the outdoors with his or her dog is invited to participate in the Snake Avoidance Clinic. At this clinic your dog will receive training with a proven method of snake proofing where dogs are taught to recognize and avoid snakes. This can be a very important procedure as most dogs have a natural curiosity about snakes and will not naturally avoid them. Venomous snake bites can cause large vet bills, take several months for full recovery, and in some cases, be fatal for the dog. April 9-10, 2010 Specialty Show at Denton Fairgrounds Each April, the DFWLRC holds a back-to-back Specialty Show on the Denton Fairgrounds, offering Puppy and Veteran Sweepstakes, Regular and non-Regular conformation and obedience classes, as well as Rally classes. We offer a raffle on both Friday and Saturday, sponsor a Texas-style BBQ on Friday night after the show, and a wine and cheese judges' appreciation hour after the show on Saturday!
